Our Purpose

Access to knowledge, not luck, should decide who gets ahead.

Friends With Purpose provides free financial education to low-income families, communities, and individuals across Connecticut, creating opportunities and financial stability for them. Our services include job interview training and opportunities, budgeting advice, benefits navigation, and personalized one-to-one financial education.

Financial illiteracy and lack of access to basic financial knowledge are real barriers that keep individuals and families from building stability. We believe these gaps are often a matter of access to information, not ability, and that the right knowledge at the right moment can create real change in our community.

Humility, kindness, and knowledge are what we hope to lead by in any conversation we have.
Zach Yusko Tomas De Pinho

Founded by two friends, Zach (Darien, CT) and Tomas (Greenwich, CT, born in Houston), who know the luck and opportunity they've been given and built this to share it. We believe growth is built on the connections around us, that's the foundation of this organization.

What we lead with

Bringing meaningful advice to a community that could use it, without expecting anything in return, is the ideology that makes a community a family.

Humility

We show up to listen first, not to lecture.

Kindness

Every conversation is human to human, judgment-free.

Knowledge

Specific, actionable information, not vague advice.

Want to see how this actually works?

Every session follows the same simple, human framework.
